A Lakota novelist, short story author, poet, and educator, I am employed on the Rosebud Sioux Indian Reservation by the St. Francis Indian School. Aside from my professional duties as the Gifted and Talented Director for St. Francis Indian School, I also write professionally and blog about Native American education. Holding a BS in English/Secondary Education from the Black Hills State University and Master of Arts in Language, Reading, and Culture from the University of Arizona, I have worked as a teacher, administrator, and grant writer for over 20 years. An identical twin daughter of a farmer/rancher and teacher, I grew up on the Rosebud Sioux Indian Reservation in south-central South Dakota. I currently reside on my home reservation where I work as a school administrator, spend time with my family, and raise my three daughters.
