Do you have photographs from your fieldwork, a class field trip or a hike at Chautauqua (or anywhere)? The Jerry Crail Johnson Earth Sciences & Map Library is holding a photo contest to highlight student photography related to geology, physical geography and environmental sciences.

The contest is open to all CU Boulder students, and each student can submit up to three photos. Entries will be accepted through Friday, April 14, at 11:59 p.m.

Photos will be judged on:

  • Artistic merit (photographic quality, composition and aesthetics);
  • How well an earth feature, process or landscape is captured (as shown through the image, not solely in the description); and
  • The short, well-written description of the photograph that explains the earth feature or natural landscape being depicted (one to three sentences).

The winner will be announced on May 1, and up to 10 entries will be displayed in the Earth Sciences & Map Library stairwell during the 2017-18 school year.

For more information and to submit your photo(s), visit the Google Docs form and login with your CU Boulder IdentiKey username and password.

If you have further questions, please email Earth Sciences and Environment Librarian Phil White.
