The BUENO Center for Multicultural Education is an integral part of the School of Education at University of Colorado Boulder. For 40 years, BUENO has been conducting research focused on bilingual, multicultural and special education, as well as facilitating comprehensive professional learning for educators.

Through research, training and service projects, the public program strongly promotes quality education with an emphasis on cultural pluralism and is deeply committed to facilitating equal educational opportunities for cultural and language minority students.

In July, the BUENO Center will host the 2017 Summer Institute titled "From the Past into the Future: Equity, Justice, and Diversity." The thought-provoking, enlightening two-day conference is designed to build knowledge and skills about the education of culturally- and linguistically-diverse learners.

Faculty, researchers and professors from the BUENO Center and CU Boulder will deliver research-based, engaging and participatory sessions addressing topics such as biliteracy instruction, English language development, special education and family and community engagement.

The institute is designed for both novice and experienced K-12 teachers and school administrators. Participants will have the opportunity to select from a variety of workshops that best meet their interests and needs. It is recommended participants attend in teams. Some of the sessions will be delivered in Spanish.
