By Tina Li, student coordinator at Community Health

My name is Tina Li and I am a student coordinator at Community Health, the public health division of Wardenburg Health Center.  For the past few semesters, I have been involved in the production of a podcast called Sex Buffs

Sex Buffs is a sex positive podcast that serves as an example of the different experiences people have with sex, gender, society, and sexuality. I think that having these conversations is important because people often have unrealistic expectations and images of what sex and gender are.  Hearing about other peoples’ experiences can open the door for people to have conversations about sex, gender and society.

I feel that this can be a valuable skill because it can lower anxiety and help with maintaining healthy relationships.  More importantly, it can empower people to advocate for themselves and gain confidence about who they are and the choices they make.  Working on Sex Buffs has definitely helped me learn how to have honest and constructive conversations!
