Students will have an exclusive opportunity to meet one of the country's most prolific broadcast journalists, Tom Costello (Jour'87), on Tuesday, Feb. 26, when he presents "Breaking the News with Tom Costello." A free reception with food will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by Costello's talk at 7 p.m. The event will be held in Eaton Humanities room 1B50.

From Princess Diana’s death to the US Airways Hudson River landing, Costello has covered some of the most captivating stories of our times.
He has been an NBC News correspondent based in Washington, D.C., since 2005, and reports daily for the Today Show, NBC Nightly News, MSNBC and CNBC. His assignments have taken him around the world from the terrorist bombings in Madrid, to the Persian Gulf, Japan and the barrios of Mexico.
Costello got his start in journalism at CU using a typewriter. He remembers audio-recording ABC World News with Peter Jennings at night and transcribing the entire broadcast, so he could study the writing.
