CU Late Nite, Program Council and the Dennis Small Cultural Center have teamed up to present the 2012 Battle of the Bands competition to be held Friday, Oct. 19, at 7:30 p.m. in the Glenn Miller Ballroom.

Ten bands, ranging in different sizes and performing in different genres, will all have the chance to compete for the coveted Battle of the Bands title and will be judged by prominent members of the music industry. Battle of the Bands is free to all audience members, and audience participation does play an important part. Each band will be allotted approximately 15 minute sets.

Previous winners, like Air Dubai (2009) and West Water Outlaws (2010) have taken the momentum from their win and gone on to perform on national tours, as well as selling out venues in both Boulder and Denver.

This year's performing bands include:

  • Drop Switch
  • Brent Crane & A Band
  • Branden Calano
  • Cold River City
  • 100 Percent
  • Petey Purcell
  • Slanted Jack
  • Barren Waves
