Nikolay Malyshev, head of Russia's federal program on the application of information technologies to education, will visit three University of Colorado campuses and present a public talk during his March 14-19 visit.

Malyshev is visiting Colorado as part of an effort to develop distance education in Russia in cooperation with leading schools and industries around the world.

On Wednesday, March 14, Malyshev will present an overview of the current state of information technologies in Russia and their applications to education. The presentation is from 4 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. in room ECCR 265 of the CU-Boulder Engineering Center and is free and open to the public.

Malyshev also will meet with CU President Elizabeth Hoffman, state officials and industry executives during his visit. His visit is sponsored by the Interdisciplinary Telecommunications Program at CU-Boulder with support from an Excellence Grant awarded by the Colorado Commission on Higher Education.

Malyshev is a member of the Russian Academy of Science and has been an adviser to the president of Russia on science and higher education.
