New Year, New Timber

This year, our magazine has faced many internal and external challenges. In an effort to revitalize the magazine, we will be restructuring Timber for 2017. New content opportunities, themed issues, and editor-run contests are in the works. We plan to have more information available on January 1st, 2017.

This is a huge undertaking for our small staff. We are all graduate students and teachers; many of us work other jobs or have young families of our own. Because we are run by this small, dedicated staff, we need to take a short break so we can get the magazine ready for its new look!

This means that submissions will be closing for the month of January. Timber usually welcomes submissiosn throughout the academic year (August-March); however, we need to dedicate as much time as possible to reorganizing Timber and preparing our editorial staff for these changes. On December 31st, 2016, Timber will close to submissions. With luck, you'll be able to submit again in February.

If you're waiting for a response to a query or submission already, you should hear from our editors soon. Due to the internal turnover, we've faced some delays in our reading schedule.

You have two weeks to send us something smashing before the new year! Your work will keep us wam through the coming winter months.

Thank you for your continued support of our magazine! Stay safe and happy this winter season.
