Summer Session Myths Busted
"I can’t go to Summer Session and work or have an internship."
FACT: Take one class in three weeks in Maymester ending May 29 and have the rest of the summer to work, travel, or intern. The five-week Session A is over before July 4. Or take off 8 weeks and return to Boulder for B term beginning July 7. A variety of terms to meet your needs.
"Summer Session costs too much."
FACT: A course in Summer Session is the same for in-state students as during the fall and spring. For out-of-state students, tuition is on a per credit hour basis, meaning you pay for ONLY the credit hours you enroll in. Check with the financial aid office to see if you have summer financial aid eligibility.
"I can’t get the courses I need in Summer Session."
FACT: Summer Session offers over 500 courses including major, core, general education, and minor requirements.
"There are no exciting courses available."
FACT: Summer Session offers outstanding courses for you to take. Check out the offerings in studio arts, film studies, and music. Smaller classes in Engineering and Business provide great opportunities.
"None of my friends will be here."
FACT: Over 7,000 CU-Boulder students take classes every summer.
