The University of Colorado offers a tuition benefit to eligible employees which may be transferred to their eligible dependents. Permanent CU Boulder employees who work part time (a minimum of 50% time) or full time may enroll in eligible classes at any CU campus tuition-free. This benefit allows employees to receive a waiver for up to a total of nine credit hours of tuition on a space available basis per academic year or allows their dependents to receive a discount of twenty percent off of the student share of tuition. Employees and their dependents are responsible for paying all other required campus-specific fees and other related educational costs. The faculty/staff benefit year runs fall term through summer term.
If an employee chooses to use the benefit for their dependent, the student will receive a twenty percent discount on the student share of tuition (at CU Boulder only). The student share equals the summer tuition rate less the College Opportunity Fund stipend (if eligible) and is not based on space available or full-time status. Dependents may register for courses during the regular enrollment period and can be enrolled full time or part time. The employee is not eligible to use the 9 credit hour tuition waiver during an academic year in which a dependent utilizes the twenty percent discount for one or more semesters.
Those using the benefit must be granted admission as either a degree seeking student or as nondegree to the Boulder Main Campus.
