Benefits at Wardenburg Health Center
What are the general benefits
at Wardenburg Health Center?
- No co-pays.
- No deductibles.
- No pre-existing condition clause when seen at Wardenburg Health
Center.
- 100 percent coverage for medical clinic services (sickness and injury).
- 100 percent coverage for women’s health services (includes one annual exam
per plan year).
- 100 percent coverage for men’s health clinic (one annual exam
per plan year).
- 100 percent coverage for medically necessary supplies (regularly stocked).
- 100 percent coverage for laboratory services (if medically necessary).
- 100 percent coverage for X-ray services (if medically necessary).
- 100 percent coverage for 25 physical therapy visits per plan year when
referred.*
- 100 percent coverage for immunizations such as hepatitis B series, meningitis,
HPV, and flu. (Exceptions to immunization coverage
are the following travel-specific prevention vaccines: Japanese
encephalitis, rabies, yellow fever, and typhoid.)
- 100 percent coverage for travel clinic services.
- One eye examination per plan year at Wardenburg Health Center
only (glasses, contacts, and contact lens fittings are not covered).
*Regularly stocked covered items will be covered at 100 percent
the first time. Replacement supplies will not be covered.

What are the outpatient mental
health and substance abuse services provided at Wardenburg Health
Center?
- Biologically-based conditions
100 percent coverage for medically necessary visits;
the number of visits will be determined by your provider for
the following biologically based conditions: schizophrenia,
schizo-affective disorder, bipolar affective disorder, major
depressive disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, and panic
disorder.
- Nonbiologically-based conditions
The plan covers up to 12 psychological
health and 8 psychiatry visits as determined by your provider.
Prescription refills will be considered one psychiatry visit.
- Group Therapy
100 percent coverage for group therapy.
What specialist can I see
at Wardenburg Health Center?
Wardenburg Health Center contracts for the services of specialty
physicians from the Boulder community and the CU-Health Sciences
Center. Specialty clinic visits at Wardenburg Health Center are subject
to appointment availability, and may be limited during the summer
session and breaks.
The Student Gold Health Insurance Plan includes:
- 100 percent coverage for orthopedics, minor surgery, and allergy visits
at Wardenburg Health Center (WHC) with a valid referral from an appropriate healthcare provider
(includes allergy antigens at 50 percent coverage).
- 100 percent coverage for 10 chiropractic visits per plan year with a valid referral from an appropriate healthcare provider.
What happens if I am unable
to see a specialist at Wardenburg Health Center?
The Student Gold Health Insurance Plan includes coverage for health
care, including specialists, outside of Wardenburg Health Center.
This coverage is underwritten by the Chickering Group/Aetna. See Services Outside Wardenburg Health
Center for details
on this coverage.
If you require specialist care outside of Wardenburg Health Center,
and you are referred by a WHC health care provider, your deductible,
coinsurance, and co-payment will apply.
If you require specialist care, and no appointments are available
at Wardenburg Health Center, and you are referred outside of WHC,
your deductible, coinsurance, and co-payment will apply.
You are responsible for the deductible, coinsurance, and co-payment
for services you receive outside of Wardenburg Health Center.
What services at Wardenburg
Health Center are NOT covered?
Wardenburg Health Center services that are not covered under the
Student Gold Health Insurance Plan include, but are not limited to:
- ADHD/ADD Testing
- Copies of X-rays and medical records
- Custom knee braces
- Dental care
- Immunizations for Japanese encephalitis, rabies, yellow fever,
and typhoid
- Loaned equipment
- Missed appointments
- Orthotics
- Premarital lab tests
- Replacement of medical supplies
- Sports treadmill
Services such as the following are not covered when requested by
the patient and are therefore excluded from coverage:
- Cardiac risk profiles
- Cholesterol tests
- Hearing tests
- HIV/AIDS testing
- Nutritional care
