Annalise Cabra, Treasurer
Major: Physics and Mathematics
This summer, Anna reviewed command loads that will be sent to retrieve science data during asteroid flybys for NASA's LUCY mission at Southwest Research Institute. Anna previously assisted in Science Operations for NASA's TSIS mission at CU's Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics and completed theoretical research on black holes through an NSF REU. In the future, Anna wants to attend graduate school and work in the field of mission trajectory design, specifically to support human exploration.
In addition to these work experiences, Anna is involved in CU's Quantum Scholars Program, McNair Scholars Program, and Society of Physics Students, where she strives to grow these communities. Anna also worked with CU Science Discovery on K-12 math outreach and presented solar system lesson plans to children at a community center in Mexico City. Anna loves engaging in outreach to spread passion for space sciences and STEM. In Anna's free time, she enjoys learning Russian, going to the gym, stargazing, and spending time with friends.
WoAA has continuously helped Anna meet other students, expand her professional network, and learn about various disciplines. Anna is excited to be a part of the exec team because it is a great way to contribute to the growth of the aerospace industry and help others, especially underrepresented students, find opportunities to develop their skills.

Skylar Edwards, WoAA Grad Advisor and Conference Coordinator
B.S. Graduate of Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Biomedical Engineering
Pursuing a M.S. in Bioastronautics and Biomedical Engineering
Skylar has worked with Dr. Torin Clark and Dr. David Temple in the Bioastronautics Lab for three years. In her first year, she assisted graduate students in exploring the effects of galvanic vestibular stimulation by streamlining manual control and functional mobility testing. The following year she proposed a research study to the Undergraduates Research Opportunities Program (UROP) to study the effects of the vestibular system and its response to roll tilt motions in conjunction with galvanic vestibular stimulation and how to quantify these effects for pilots in aviation or spaceflight.
Skylar has had two prior internships at NASA JSC that are closely related to work in human spaceflight. In her first internship, she worked with an Exploration Medical Capabilities (ExMC) group in which she was a Model-Based Systems Engineer. In her second internship, she worked with the Space Medicine Operations Division within a team called the Lifetime Surveillance of Astronaut Health (LSAH), which she worked on creating a database system that would analyze astronaut health exposures and look for trends in data. In addition, she also spent the summer after her freshman year as a technical intern for Northrop Grumman, where she worked on active space debris removal solutions.
Skylar is a Goldshirt and Colorado Space Grant scholar who plans to attend CU Boulder again in the Fall to get her M.S. in Bioastronautics. Skylar hopes to spend her career making space travel safe and accessible for everyone.
Skylar is passionate about making women feel like they belong in the space/aviation industry. She was the former president of the CU Boulder WoAA chapter and is now the conference/event chair for CU WoAA and the Expansion Chair for the international WoAA chapter. Her goals are to provide opportunities for students to gain skills professionally and technically. Skylar wants to develop a community in WoAA where anyone and everyone is welcome. Her goal is to draw attention to the gender dilemma in STEM and make women feel like they have a place they belong in the STEM Industry.
