Volunteers for Peace VFP is a non-profit organization that has been coordinating International Workcamps since 1982. International Workcamps are a short-term form of international voluntary service that emerged from war-torn Europe back in 1920. They are an affordable (most programs are US$200 for a 2-3 week program) and meaningful way that you can travel, live and work in a foreign country.

Amigos de las Américas Non-profit organization with over 40 years experience in sending students to Latin America for summer public health projects. This summer, we will send 640 volunteers to 9 different countries working closely with local sponsoring agencies, such as the Peace Corps, Save the Children and Care. During an AMIGOS summer, volunteers work with international grass-roots organizations in teams with 1-2 other volunteers in Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Brazil, Paraguay, or Uruguay . Typical projects include the construction of fuel efficient stoves, community gardens, latrines, and water systems, teaching school children and families within schools and clinics the importance of hygiene, environment, and nutrition, and whatever other community-led development projects the town wishes to undertake.
