VCH Director - Anna Domenico

Anna happily returned to the University of Colorado in 2004. After graduating from Boulder’s Fairview High School in 1992, she began pursuing a BA in Sociology at CU.

Inspired by witnessing Nelson Mandela campaign for the first non-racial elections in South Africa (thanks to Semester at Sea), after graduating from CU, Anna spent two and a half years in South Africa as a Community & School Resource volunteer with the Peace Corps.

Upon returning home to Colorado she worked in the non-profit sector, at both the Institute of International Education and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado. In 2003, she earned her Masters degree in an interdisciplinary program at the University of Chicago, where her research focused on the intercultural dynamics of service programs; she specifically researched the experiences of young Sudanese refugees living in the Chicago area.

Anna has also taught the courses Cross-Cultural Communication, and Cultures of Africa at Metropolitan State College of Denver.
