General Information
The Club Swimming and Diving at the University of Colorado is a Co-Ed program that practices at the CU Recreation Center five days per week and competes against other Varsity teams in the state of Colorado at the Division I, II, III, and Club levels. While we compete against varsity teams, we are not a varsity program. We have a unique program that offers a place for CU students to compete at a variety of levels. The team is open to swimmers of all abilities. Competitions take place starting in September and run through April.
The team cheer before Nationals. One of the highlights of our season is our team training trip, which takes place during Winter Break. Past locations include Orlando, Fort Meyers, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami, Florida, and South Padre Island, Texas. We spend from seven to ten days balancing intense twice-a-day practices with trips to the beach, local amusement parks, and natural attractions, and end it all up with a night of fun on the town. Check out our Team Trip page for pictures and more information.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can anyone join the team?
Any student who is a member of the University of Colorado Recreation Center is eligible to join the team.

What do I need to for practice?
All you really need is a swim suit and goggles; equipment such as paddles, buoys, kick boards and zoomers will be provided. You will also need to sign a waiver before jumping in the pool.

Do I need to make every practice?
Practices aren't mandatory, if you have an exam or a paper, feel free to take the day off. However, we like everyone to attend as many practices as possible; if you only come once per week, you may have trouble keeping up with our coach's program.

Where is Clare Small Pool?
Clare Small Pool is in the Recreation Center on the main Boulder campus. The entrance is a set of double doors to the right of the guard office from the deck of the main Competition pool.

Do I need to compete in the meets?
You are not required to make any meets, but they're a lot of fun. However, if you sign up for a meet, you are obligated to attend.

How much does it cost to join?
The dues for the team are $140 for the year. You may also choose to buy some team gear (suit, t-shirt, etc) and food during our away meets.

What do the dues cover?
Your dues cover the coaches, ground transportation to meets, lodging at meets, and miscellaneous fees.

What don't the dues cover?
You will be required to pay extra for any suits, t-shirts, and other team merchandise. Team Members purchase their own food during away meets. You will also need to pay for the team trip and a small fee for Nationals, as well as your plane tickets for these events.

How do I get on the Email List?
We do most of our communication via email. To get on the listserv, you can send an email the club president, Lindsay Spangler with your request.
