Our next General Meeting will be on Wednesday, 4/21 - 6pm in HLMS 241.

Pre-Health Advisory Information Session & Kaplan Course Auction

If you are planning on attending a graduate health school – application time is here! SAPP will be hosting Anne Bekoff and Penny Bennett from the Pre-Health Advising Office to answer your questions on the application process and getting into the schools of your choice. We will also be auctioning off a Kaplan prep course that can be used for the GRE, OAT, DAT, of PCAT (students typically save up to $800 through this auction). Food will be provided.

Our master schedule will be kept updated here.
Information on each of our specialty groups can be found at the links above.

Please check out our intramurals page. Participation is free!

A note from SAPP President David Hoch...

Welcome, SAPP Members, to another semester here at CU! I’m writing to let you know of the upcoming events SAPP will be participating in this spring:

· We will be participating in the Spring Involvement Fair which is Thursday, February 4th in the Glenn Miller Ballroom from 11-2 pm. Stop by to visit other SAPP members and see how you can get involved in various CU activities this semester.
· The much awaited Health Fair will be February 23-24th. The Health Fair consists of many different post-bach schools coming to CU to advertise their health programs and gives you a chance to meet admissions representatives. It is important that we have a large turnout from SAPP members so these schools return in the future. We’ve had many top schools attend in the past; let’s keep this trend going.
· We will auction off a Kaplan exam prep-course at the end of the semester. This auction is for any non-MCAT exam; so if you are planning on taking the GRE, DAT, OAT, etc., you have a fair chance at receiving a large discount. Our MCAT prep-course auctioned for $1000 last semester, which is $800 cheaper than the standard price. Keep this in mind if you are looking to take an exam-prep course for a great price!

One last thing – our office has moved to UMC 327. Feel free to stop by if you would like to speak to any leaders regarding your desired health career or for information on leadership opportunities. We are always looking for more leaders to come and take on a role in SAPP. We can also be contacted at prhlth@colorado.edu. Thank you for your time and let’s have a great semester!

Some highlights from Fall 2010...

Former Senator and CU President Hank Brown shared his thoughts on health care reform and its impact on the health care professional with SAPP members at our general meeting on October 26th. We'd like to thank him for donating his time to our group and everyone who came to participate in the discussion. Notes on the conversation were live blogged eSwarm, whose generosity provided dinner for all of the attendees. Check out the transcript of the live swarm here.

"A Day in the Life" had the highest attendance of any SAPP general meeting in the last decade. This interdisciplinary panel of health professionals featured q&a and short presentations on the challenges and triumphs of day to day existence in the health care sector. The event was sponsored by eSwarm - click the banner to the left to learn more about this exciting new company and the CU Student Group Contest that SAPP is participating in.
