Question of the week:

When I meet a transgender person, what gender pronoun should I use?
If you don't know, just ask. When you meet a transgender or genderqueer person and you aren't sure about what gender pronoun to use (he/she/ze/hir) , it's best to use their first name and then ask what they prefer. If done respectfully, most people won't mind just telling you how they prefer to be addressed. It might seem a little scarry to ask someone this, but most people will be glad you did! Please email us or check out our resources page for more info on these terms.

If you have any questions about these terms, or anything else, email us at gather@colorado.edu! We would love to help answer questions!

"My only regret about being gay is that I repressed it for so long. I surrendered my youth to the people I feared when I could have been loving somone. Don't make that mistake yourself. Life's too damn short"
