Events

Refuge

Refuge is our large-group gathering: a time of singing, prayer, learning, meeting people, experiencing God, and having fun! Everyone is welcome. After Refuge, everyone goes to Denny's to eat and socialize.

Refuge is every Thursday night during the school year in Benson Earth Sciences, room 185. Refuge lasts from 7:30-9:00. We're usually at Denny's until around 10:45.

Men's/Women's Weekly Studies

Men's Study

Every other Tuesday at 6:30 AM at The Egg & I, the men get together to discuss the topics in the book Crazy Love by Francis Chan.

Parties

We love to have fun, and we want you to join us! We have lots of fun events such as ice blocking, game nights, barbecues, scavenger hunts, chili nights, progressive dinners, Christmas parties, football-watching parties, and more!

We also have events we call OAFNAS: Ongoing Alternative Friday Night Activities. These are generally smaller events, but they could range from any of the above activities to murder mystery parties, anime nights, concerts, or something else entirely different (and not necessarily on a Friday night)! Check the calendar for any OAFNAS, as these are more numerous and spontaneous than our big events.

Service Projects

As Christians, we care about what God cares about, and God has a special place in His heart for the poor and disenfranchised. So each semester, we make a point to do something to help the less fortunate.

Retreats

Infusion

Infusion is a week where we come to soak in God's love, worship together and be surrounded by a community of love. It's a safe place to ask and explore difficult questions — questions about what we're learning together or questions about your own unique spiritual journey.
Infusion is a five day long leadership training conference that is designed to show you more of God's heart, but it is also a chance for you to explore and express your own gifts. This year, Infusion is from May 24-29.

Fall Retreat

Every October, we travel to Long Scraggy Mountain Ranch for a weekend, where we bond with each other and talk in-depth about a spiritual topic.

Mission Trips

Sometimes we take a trip to help the needy, kind of like an extended service project. In past years we have traveled to Juarez to build a house for a family who did not have one, we went to Minnesota to help inner city kids, and we've gone to New Orleans to aid in reconstruction from the hurricane disaster.

Summer Bible Study

Over the summer, we meet weekly to pray and study the Bible, usually with a trip to Denny's afterwards.

We have Bible study every Thursday at 7:00 in UMC 325 from June 7 to August 2.
