There are plenty of opportunities to get involved in BMES. Every year we embark on a biomedical engineering project - this year we are developing an endoscope. Participation on a project is a great way to gain experience and can give you an advantage when searching for jobs and internships. All engineering majors and class levels are welcome as we always need team members to design, build, test, fabricate, and manage our projects. For more information, contact president Ben Noe at email@example.com.
We also have two committees that anyone can serve on. Committees generally meet every other week to update the society on their activities and create plans for future activities. Most members serve on a committee and work on the project simultaneously.
The Membership Committee is responsible for advertising society events, writing and sending out our newsletter, and establishing/keeping track of membership levels. They also help with Outreach, particularly for high school visit days/workshops and volunteer opportunities. For more information, contact chair Whitney Setterberg at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Mentor Program Committee
The Mentor Program Committee is responsible for pairing industry partners, upperclassmen, and lowerclassmen, as well as establishing mentor events. For more information, contact chair Carly Barnard at email@example.com.
For any other questions or ideas, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
