The AMSA Chapter @ CUUniversity of Colorado premed AMSA is CU's chapter of the American Medical Student Association. CU AMSA provides premedical students with opportunities to get involved with the medical community on a local and national level by providing shadowing opportunities and volunteer activities as well as great connections, contacts, and invitations to AMSA conventions (trust us, these are well worth attending.) AMSA also supplies pre-med students with the resources necessary to get into medical school. Above all, CU AMSA believes it takes more than medical school to become a doctor; for this reason, AMSA attempts to care for the community on all levels and fight for the patients. Mission Statement:For over 50 years the American Medical Student Association has been dedicated to serving the needs of physicians-in-training. As a premedical student, you are indeed a physician-in-training, and AMSA is here to help you in any way it can. From an annual medical school fair for premeds to tips on the MCAT and application process, from networking with medical students to linking up premedical students from across the country, AMSA is committed both to helping you get into medical school and to making you a better physician. AMSA's mission for its premedical students is to provide information, support, and leadership development for future physicians in training. As activists, we seek to foster our philosophy of diversity and community service in the premedical student, while providing benefits and services which aid future physicians in training as they prepare for a career in medicine. |
