Hi everybody! Good news, just got back from George's bar located next to the boulder theater, and every Tuesday night they hold a "clusterpluck". Basically its a chance for anyone to pull out their acoustics and preform original songs or covers. Its a really relaxed atmosphere, and fairly small. Anyway, good times; I'm going back next week, and I would love for all of y'all to come with!

    For those who are wondering a little more about this, here was my perspective. First of all, we usually wouldn't be allowed in because we're under 21, but apparently an exception is being made for us. If you want to go alone I'm sure you can just say that you're part of the BJC, but for the most part hopefully someone will be there that they know so it won't even be an issue (George, etc). It's a pretty small bar, right next to the Boulder Theater - there were probably around 10 people in there when we went. Mostly it's just a bunch of older guys with their acoustic guitars playing what I assume were songs that they wrote - everyone's very chill and laid back. Everyone just kind of rotated in and out playing their stuff, sometimes by themselves, sometimes with other guys. If anyone has anything acoustic that isn't a guitar I think you'd be really welcome - there was only one guy there who played anything but (he played the mandolin). And I guess we brought a hand drum, so there was that too.

    If I could say anything I guess it would be that to us it seemed to be very song-oriented. That is, mostly it was just people playing (like George said) their songs, or covers. Not that just jamming around would be frowned upon or anything, but I think most of the guys playing weren't necessarily trying to do that.

    Overall, really fun. They were really welcoming. Totally fine for anyone of any skill level, and especially if you're writing songs I think you should check it out. It's a nice little audience to play for.
