How to Obtain a Work-Study Award
Step 1: Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
The FAFSA will help us determine if you are eligible for a work-study award. It can be done online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, which can be reached from our website:

Step
2: Determine Work-study Eligibility
Allow 10-14 days for your FAFSA to process once you complete it, and then contact either the Student Employment Office (303.492.7349) or the Financial Aid Office (303.492.5091) to find out if you are eligible for a work-study award. Incoming freshman/transfer student will be automatically awarded Work-study if eligible.

Step
3: Look for a Work-Study Employer
This can be done on CU Connect: Login, then click on the “Financial” tab. To the left you will see a “Student Employment” Channel, which contains folders of available work-study jobs. Browse through the work-study folders and contact the employer directly for any positions you are interested in.

Step
4: Submit an Employer Request for Student Work-study Form
This needs to be completed by your (potential) employer. Once it has been submitted, receiving work-study becomes a matter of waiting to be awarded.

Step
5: Review Waitlist Information
To review information on how the waitlist works, go to “Students” à “Work-Study Employment Information”. The form of interest will be titled “Work-Study Waitlist Information”
