Support Student Affairs

The University of Colorado receives less than 4% of its budget from state appropriations. Consequently, CU must look to private donors to help finance important programs and initiatives that directly impact all students on campus from move-in through graduation.  The easiest way to directy support the work done by the Division of Student Affairs is to contribute to the Parent Fund.

“Why would I give to the Parent Fund?”

The Parent Fund is a unique opportunity for parents, family members and others to get involved with the CU community while having a direct impact on student success. Gifts made to the Parent Fund provide vital financial support to enhance important programs and initiatives that directly impact all students on campus from move in through graduation, at the discretion of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs.

Some of the intiatives currently being funded by the Parent Fund are:

  • Veteran ServicesThe Veteran Services Center assists veterans transitioning from military to campus life, leveraging the wide variety of resources and services available and assisting with career development after graduation.
  • Environmental CenterThrough creative sustainability initiatives the E-Center has set a zero-waste goal for the entire campus (over 90% of waste diverted from landfills by 2020).
  • Recovery CampusThe Recovery Campus offers a safe, supportive environment for students in recovery from drug and alcohol abuse, as well as those choosing to live a sober lifestyle.
  • Leadership and Professional DevelopmentNew, unique programming helps students learn the skills necessary for successful transition from academics to the professional world.
  • Day of ServiceOn the Saturday before classes start, freshmen participate in a day of service, providing every first-year student the opportunity to connect early on in meaningful ways with other students, their campus, and their community.
