Portal Events Task Force
Commission and Goals
The Events task force should build recommendations for process,
policy and guidelines related to publishing events within the portal. For the
prototype, the task force
should also define specific event generation test groups, assuming that it will
not be feasible to funnel all university events through the prototype.
The event process design should take the following into consideration:
- event information must be available through the portal and
through the colorado.edu web site.
- events should be able to be categorized so that each portal user can
select which category of events to display within his/her event channel.
- the publication of events should be able to be handled through a central review
point – and – through specified delegated departments;
- the events publication/submission process must be able to fold into the
technical framework recommended by the technical development team, considering
both the
portal framework and the campus calendaring framework.
- the events publication/submission process must accommodate the myriad
of event publishing formats currently in use around campus (either by easing
the conversion
to a new portal/campus event submission process or by accepting data
from department-specific event submission processes.
Timeframe
