Portal Deployment Task Force
Commission and Goals
The Deployment Task Force will develop recommendations for features to be rolled
out, when the features will be rolled out, and for defining the populations to
whom the portal will be made available – for both the prototype and the
production rollout. This task force must coordinate recommendations with the
Technical Development Team and must communicate closely with the Outreach Team.
Areas of consideration include:
- feasibility of feature development within specified timeframes
- balancing technical requirements with student requests
- coordinating portal features with campus process requirements
- specifying the length of time for prototype deployment (start and
end dates)
- prototype test results and subsequent production rollout requirements
Timeframe
- Prototype deployment recommendations prepared for Core Team
preliminary review at February 24, 2003 meeting.
- Final draft prototype deployment plan signed off by Core and Technical
Development Teams by March 5th.
- Prototype deployment plan presented to Steering Team review at
March 11, 2003 meeting.
- Production deployment plan detailed efforts will begin at the conclusion
of the prototype test, with the expectation that the plan will be approved
by May 16th.
