Meetings

  • Fall Meetings: Meetings throughout the Fall will be held the 2nd Wednesday of each month, 3 p.m., Telecomm 215.
  • Next Core Team Meeting: October 8th, 3:00 p.m., Telecomm 215
  • Next Announcement Subteam Meeting: September 23, 1 p.m., Telecomm 215

Action Items from Sept 10th meeting

  • Barb Todd will send Paula information from Dept of Ed re. new rules about identifiers used to access systems/information.
  • Carolyn will send Paula some suggested dates for a meeting re. the UMS web bill feature.
  • Barb T – share info re. self-serve enrollment verification with Paula.
  • Paula – schedule a deployment team meeting (add Bryan Moll to the team list)
  • Paula – Add Rich Murray to the Steering Team list – he will represent the tri-execs.
  • Paula – Add Chris, Bryan and Barb to the Test Team list.

Mandatory initiatives for Spring semester Portal Launch

The list below includes only those items that generated discussion. A complete list was distributed at the meeting.

  • Additional News Sources. Core team members should let Paula know asap which departments should be contacted as potential news sources. Please provide a contact name as well. (Preferably let Paula know by Sept 12th, in time for the Outreach Subteam meeting.)
  • Student Schedule.
    • Schedule as displayed in the prototype needs to be enhanced with additional detail, webct flag, book lookup and math mods. CADS or the Academic subteam are to provide input on these details.
    • Core voted to keep one academic year’s worth of history available for student schedule viewing.
    • Former students also need access to their schedules at least for a couple of semesters.
    • Grades are needed by former students – and these students may need access to only one semester’s worth of grades (vs. the entire transcript) – a typical request for employers. (therefore, grades cannot be pulled out of PLUS until there is a replacement available for former students)
  • Course Lookup.
    • Course-related information (included waitlist) is based on a nightly feed (therefore, day old data).
    • Continuing Ed also uses on-line and correspondence as search criteria.
    • Course Lookup for Spring will not include all of the functionality found in schedule planner.
  • Password reset. Department of Ed has new rules regarding identifiers used to access information.
    AI: Barb Todd will send information to Paula.

Financial features

  • UMS is developing on “web bills” – a static picture of a student’s bill. Should be available by January. Production deployment on Boulder campus is not yet decided upon.
  • AI: We need to meet with Carolyn and staff to learn more about this (meeting should include Paula, Burton, Gary, Carolyn, Ryan, and possibly Kent)

Registration features

  • Registrar is developing a self-service enrollment verification process that involves authenticating to the Registrar’s site then passing through to the Clearinghouse. AI: Need to find out more from Barb T.

Deployment

  • AI: Schedule a Deployment team meeting.
  • AI: Add Bryan Moll to the Deployment team.
