Action Items
- Barb T., Malinda, PJV: marketing campaign for Fall 2004.
- Judy: ask Student Affairs directors for survey ideas.
- Sue: ask for WebCT-related survey ideas.
- Eric: draft a survey re. paperless billing.
- Bonnie: ask advisors for survey ideas.
- PJV: Send confirmed student directory selection logic to Bonnie, Barb T., Sue, and Julie.
Deployment Status
- Usage numbers were distributed including total counts and counts/percentages by school/college and by class level. 7173 people have logged in to CUConnect. Law School has highest % use with 96% usage – probably due to CUConnect being the sole on-line source of grades, exam ID numbers and Law’s electronic newsletter.
- Deployment has primarily been dependent upon word of mouth since mid-March. A marketing campaign should resume for Fall 2004 start up. Malinda, Paula and Barb T will work on this.
CUConnect and confirmed students/student orientation
- Testing is in process for confirmed student access to CUConnect. In all probability, confirmed students will be able to access CUConnect this summer.
- Two evening orientation sessions per week in June and July will be focused on services. We could present CUConnect at these sessions. (Daytime sessions are very full.) Also could participate in new student welcome 8/20.
- Coordinate CUConnect info/demos with Erin Chesler, Orientation director.
Survey Ideas
- Additional survey ideas:
- CUConnect top 10, bottom 10 list (or top/bottom 5 or 3 or…)
- Number one feature respondent would like added (free form text)
- Satisfaction with webmail
- WebCT related survey. AI: Sue will ask for WebCT-related survey ideas.
- Paperless billing survey. AI: Eric will draft a survey re. paperless billing.
- Advising related survey. AI: Bonnie will ask advisors for survey ideas
- Show the results of the surveys (especially if they are “fun” surveys).
- Ask the new tri-execs for survey ideas at the beginning of Fall semester.
AI: Judy will ask Student Affairs directors for survey ideas.
Pending Features project plan
- The project plan for the remainder of calendar 2004 was reviewed. Discussion included:
- Will registration be through PLUS or CUConnect for fall 2004? Note: Registration will not actually be rewritten (in the near future) to run within CUConnect; it will continue to be a referral to the mainframe.
- How seamless will the admitted student portal be with CUConnect? (We must strive for seamlessness.)
- Will confirmed students have access to CUConnect? (We hope “yes” by summer.) Coordinate this with orientation.
- Get the logic used for selecting confirmed students for the directory and send to Bonnie, Barb T., Sue, and Julie.
- Voting information: students want a visible reminder of voting prior to registering for classes. Reminder should reference responsibilities, would like it to be a constant reminder, include a referral to the voter registration site. Could satisfy some of this through Student Government News and coordinate with the New Voters project.
- Given that email is an official means of communication, account management email redirect should include a warning about redirecting mail off site.
