Student Legal Services can help you prevent legal problems from getting out of control. Student Legal Services provides accessible professional legal assistance to fee-paying students. Sponsored by your student government and partially funded by mandatory student fees, Legal Services has two full-time attorneys who work exclusively for students at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

You can take advantage of consultations concerning traffic violations, criminal charges, consumer affairs, contracts, landlord/tenant relations, small claims court, accidents, insurance problems, debt collection, bankruptcy, wills and probate, divorce, employment, and DUI/DWAI. Legal Services cannot advise you about tax laws, immigration, internal University problems, incorporations (small businesses), patents and copyright, or real estate. The cost of the initial consultation includes a follow-up appointment. Representation in court is available in many types of cases. All fees are a fraction of the cost of a private attorney.

Services are by appointment only. Please call 492-6813 or stop by our office, UMC 311, to schedule an appointment. Student Legal Services is open Monday through Friday from 8:45 a.m. to noon and 1:15 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
