Initiatives

Initiatives, programs, and services at the divisional and departmental levels that focus on these goals include Student Development Committee, Building Community Campaign, Student Affairs Diversity Committee, Healthy Community Project, Leadership Initiatives, Excellent Service Initiative, and Organizational and Professional Development Committee.

Student Development Committee

We directly support students' development as successful, intellectually curious learners, and as healthy, competent, socially, environmentally, and civically aware citizens.

Building Community Campaign

We foster a safe, open, and welcoming community at CU-Boulder that supports and nurtures the healthy development and sense of belonging of all members of the campus community.

Student Affairs Diversity Committee

The social justice statement for the Division of Student Affairs is to:
“Promote and support a socially just community through education, advocacy, and accountability.”

Our community encompasses the Division of Student Affairs, as well as the greater university community of faculty, staff, students and partners of the university. We seek to hold each other mutually responsible for our actions and challenge each other with regard to issues of social justice, as positive change benefits all members of the community. To meet this goal, the Division of Student Affairs will hold its staff accountable for fostering a socially just community and support those efforts throughout the institution. Recognizing that there are levels of oppression and privilege, the Division of Student Affairs seeks to challenge attitudes regarding difference within our current community, and to foster change at all levels of society, from individual appreciation to organizational structures and norms.

Healthy Community Project

The purpose of the Healthy Community Project is to promote and improve the health and well being of students, faculty and staff, both as individuals and as a community. By embracing an open and expansive definition of health and well being, the Healthy Community Project supports and strengthens the student, faculty, and staff experience at CU Boulder.

Leadership Initiatives

The Student Affairs Leadership Consortium exists to elevate the prominence and visibility of student leadership development on the CU Boulder campus. Consortium membership is comprised of staff from the University's premier leadership programs. Current projects include developing a student leadership conference, designing a publicity materials to inform students about leadership development opportunities and on-going networking and information sharing.

Excellent Service Initiative

We treat our students, faculty, staff and parents with care and respect by holding ourselves to a standard of excellent service in all that we do. We offer programs, services, and facilities that help the student begin, navigate, and complete their university experience while deriving the greatest value from their education at CU-Boulder.

Organizational and Professional Development Committee.

The Organizational and Professional Development Committee is responsible for developing and executing programs designed to foster a commitment to the vision, mission, values and goals of the division among its personnel. The committee also hopes to build a stronger organization by recognizing the contributions of all Student Affairs employees and providing them opportunities for professional and personal growth.
