Interim Associate Vice Chancellor and Dean of Students Lisa Severy oversees CU-Boulder’s Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution, Student Support and Case Management, the New Student Welcome program, Women’s Resource Center, Office of Victim Assistance, Cultural Unity and Engagement Center and Student Legal Services.
She served as Director of Career Services beginning in 2003, and was named Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs in 2012. In her 20 years in the student affairs field, Severy has gained expertise in mental health services, parent relations and fundraising, student affairs leadership, counselor training and supervision, and career services. She was the president of the National Career Development Association (NCDA) in 2013-2014. Severy earned her bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and three graduate degrees including a doctoral degree in counselor education from the University of Florida. She is a licensed professional counselor in Colorado. She is also a Fulbright Scholar. She has co-authored two books, Making Career Decisions that Count and Turning Points, and has made contributions to various professional journals.
