Services

We provide innovative programs and services that foster learning, community development, leadership, and a commitment to social justice; assisting in the development of a campus inclusive of all students, staff, and faculty.

We specialize in services to diverse populations that include:

  • Student engagement
  • Support/advising/coaching/advocacy
  • Resources, skills, and tools to help students connect to opportunities such as leadership development, mentoring, and community engagement
  • Community building through a variety of events such as welcome receptions, cultural/heritage awareness events, and community discussions
  • Campus connections for students, faculty, staff, and organizations that facilitate personal and campus engagement, service learning, and academic excellence
  • Resources for faculty and staff who have questions on how to handle issues related to multicultural complexities in the classroom and/or work settings


Programs

Peer Mentor Program is a comprehensive community based program that builds in components of diversity awareness training, cross-cultural competency, intersections of identities, ally building and much more. Students facilitate numerous topical discussions, workshops and events throughout the year including strengthening the community collaborations with student organizations and groups on campus.

Multicultural Graduate Student Support Services provides support and learning opportunities specifically for graduate students during their time at CU. Event planning, mentoring with CU faculty and other activities are provided.

First Generations Scholars Program a program which includes student development, advising and academic enrichment support for eligible scholarship recipients. Students are welcomed into the program upon confirmation to CU and given assistance through graduation. Students must fulfill program requirements to maintain eligibility. Requirements are designed to foster individual academic excellence, as well as enhance social development through active participation in a variety of community building opportunities.
