Jon Tsuda
Interim Director
Born and raised in Lahaina, Hawai'i, he earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from CU-Boulder. He began his CU employment in the Asian American Educational Opportunity Program and has worked in the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, the Recreation Center, and the Student Organizations Finance Office.

 

Justina Boyd
First Generation Program Coordinator
Degrees Earned: Bachelor of Science, College of Business and Public Administration; and Master of Arts, College of Education - both from The University of Arizona.

Professional Experience: Prior to joining the Center for Multicultural Affairs, provided six years of service to the University of Colorado at Boulder in the area of undergraduate student development; three years with the Athletic Department, followed by three years with the Office of Undergraduate Education (Division of Academic Affairs, and previously the Division of Student Affairs). Prior to CU, served as an undergraduate program administrator in a variety of areas both at San Diego State University and The University of Arizona.

Jane Elvins
Graduate Student Support Services Coordinator
Dr. Jane Elvins is Coordinator of Graduate Student Support Services for CMA. Her work targets graduate students from underrepresented groups, and develops programs and services needed to enhance the experiences of various cultural identity groups on the CU-Boulder campus. Dr. Elvins earned her B.A. degree in French and Spanish from the University of Missouri at St. Louis. She later earned her M.A. degree in Education – Guidance & Counseling, and her Ph.D. degree in Communication, both from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She has taught university level courses for 30 years and in the past decade, has focused much of her teaching and service work on issues related to diversity and inclusiveness, including: encouraging appreciation for differences, developing effective intercultural alliances, encouraging activism in all CU community members, managing conflicts that arise from cultural differences, and promoting awareness of how privilege and power impact intercultural relationships.

Cleo Estrada
Counselor
Cleopatra M. Estrada is an advisor and counselor for the Center for Multicultural Affairs. After having earned her B.A. in Psychology and M.A. in Counseling and Guidance at UC-Boulder, she is completing her Ph.D. in Education Leadership and Development at UC-Denver. Throughout her years on the UC-Boulder campus, Cleo has been instrumental in organizing numerous conferences, symposiums, gatherings, dialogues and diversity training in the areas of multicultural perspectives and building alliances.

A Colorado native, she was born and raised in Center, Colorado which isin the San Luis Valley in southern Colorado.

Debbie Frazier
Outreach Coordinator
Debra Frazier is the Outreach Coordinator of the Center for Multicultural Affairs. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Rehabilitation/Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado. She offers over 30 years of comprehensive experience in counseling and advising to prospective and current students and parents from all various backgrounds. Prior to joining the Center for Multicultural Affairs, she was the Outreach/Financial Aid counselor for over 14 years at UC-Boulder. Prior to CU she was a Counselor for a non- profit agency, Counselor for the Denver Homeless Shelter and a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor for the State of Colorado.

Alexis Smith
Peer Mentor Coordinator
Alexis Smith is the Peer Mentor Coordinator for the Center for Multicultural Affairs. She leads numerous workshops and discussion events that spans topics on privilege and oppression, gender justice and equality, race and ethnic relations and intersectionalities, to name a few. She currently supervises twelve students who are committed to serving the university community in building a strong, vibrant and inclusive community. Alexis' previous work in CU student government includes Diversity Chair for two consecutive years, Gender Justice Task Force, SASH, as well as being a CMA peer counselor

Leslie Wong
Programs Manager
Leslie Wong joined CMA as a staff member in 1995 and was also a peer counselor during her student years. Currently, as the Programs Manager at the Center for Multicultural Affairs, Leslie works on supervisory oversight of programs and service delivery for CMA as well as coordinating the website, marketing and IT needs of the department. After fifteen years, Leslie is still constantly inspired by the many talented students here at CU and the spirit of progressive diversity education and awareness that CMA provides. Student development, leadership, advocacy, equity & access, and cross-cultural understanding are some of the many areas of interest that Leslie has been involved with and enjoy working with students and staff on. Leslie was born and raised in Hawai'i.
