Individual/Group Counseling: confidential, personal and group counseling is available to students through a community-based counseling model where students can build relationships, gain support/guidance, and engage in proactive student development. Withdrawal Retention Program : to ensure that students are aware of all options and
alternatives when making this decision, a counselor is available to provide insights that impact a student's decision to withdraw.
Collegiate Leadership Development Program (CLDP): designed to cultivate
the next generation of student leaders within the campus community. CLDP facilitates
a two-way dialogue between students and key University officials through an
intensive seven-week seminar in the Spring semester.
Diversity Education Team (DET): provides the
Boulder campus community, faculty, students, and staff learning
and exploring opportunities on various diversity issues at
both the individual, as well as the institutional level.
These opportunities are provided through individual consultation
or through
experiential, interactive group work — such as training, workshops,
and seminars.
First Generations Scholars Program a comprehensive community based program which includes student development, counseling and academic support for eligible scholarship recipients. Students are welcomed into the program upon confirmation to CU and given assistance through graduation. Students must fulfill program requirements to maintain eligibility. Requirements are designed to foster individual academic excellence, as well as enhance social development through active participation in a variety of community building opportunities.
Parents as Partners Program (PPP): builds partnerships that are essential to creating an environment that fosters overall student development and success. Parents As Partners connects parents with campus and community resources to support their sons or daughters as they transitions towards greater independence and self-reliance. Peer Counselor Program: student paraprofessionals undertake the critical responsibility of being student liaisons, positive
role models and CU resources. Mentors provide support, leadership, and
promote a greater sense of community through direct involvement with
many diverse groups as well as coordinate various workshops and events.
White Antelope Memorial Scholarship
Program (WAMS): established
in 1988 for American Indian students and dedicated to the memory of the
Cheyenne and Arapahoe people who lost their lives in the Sand Creek Massacre
of 1864.
Scholarships are awarded based on need and program participation.
