Jennifer McDuffie serves as the Assistant Dean of Students at the University of Colorado Boulder. In her role, Jennifer serves as the chief strategist and the first point of contact for the Dean of Students as well as supervising the following offices: New Student & Family Programs, Office of Student Conduct & Conflict Resolution, Office of Victims Assistance, and Student Support & Case Management. In addition, Jennifer is actively involved in the Division and on campus serving on multiple committees to promote student success (involvement, retention, and graduation).
Jennifer has more than 10 years of experience in higher education, where she served in multiple leadership roles at the University of Colorado Boulder, University of Denver, and Mississippi State University. Prior to joining the Dean of Students office, Jennifer served as the Director of New Student & Family Programs, which is responsible for the transition of all incoming students and their families to the University through an online orientation, optional summer programming, an extensive Fall Welcome program offered through the first few weeks of the semester and providing ongoing resources and engagement opportunities to families. Additionally, she is actively involved on campus working with campus partners and student support services to help offer assistance and guidance for all families of CU students throughout their student’s time at CU Boulder.
Before coming to the Division of Student Affairs as Director of New Student & Family Programs, Jennifer served as the Director of the Leeds Scholars and Honors Programs, which selected the top undergraduate business students to participate in honors and leadership programs and she was the Associate Director of Admissions overseeing all recruitment, selection, and outreach for undergraduate students at the University of Colorado Boulder. Highlights of her experience include: program development, recruitment and yield initiatives, as well as relationship building and cross campus collaboration.
Jennifer earned a B.S. in Family Studies and Psychology from Mississippi University for Women and M.S. in Counselor Education with an emphasis in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Mississippi State University. Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys traveling, exploring Colorado and the surrounding area, cheering for her favorite sports teams, and spending time with family, friends, and her dog, Bee.
