About the Associate Vice Chancellor and Dean of Students
Deb Coffin has been the Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Dean of Students at the University of Colorado at Boulder since 2008. Deb has 27 years experience working with students at three universities and has served as the Assistant Vice Chancellor and Executive Director of Housing & Dining Services at CU, the Director of Housing and Residence Life at the University of Northern Colorado, and as the Director of Housing at the University of Wyoming. At each campus she has worked collaboratively to build strong student services, programs, facilities and activities which contribute to student success. She is most proud of the partnerships formed with faculty in order to develop and deliver residential academic programs, tutoring and other academic support services.
Deb Coffin attended the University of Northern Colorado earning a Bachelor’s degree in Community Health (1977) and a second Bachelor’s degree in Biology Education (1985). Upon graduating with her first Bachelor’s degree she served in the United States Peace Corps at the Schistosomiasis Research and Control Center in Palo, Leyte, Philippines working as a community health educator at the research center and faculty member at Divine University, Tacloben, Leyte. In 1993 she earned her Master of Arts in Human Communications Theory.
