Biography

Robert Scott is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Sociology. He received a BS in Sociology from Westminster College and an MA in Sociology from the University of Victoria. From 2009 to 2017, he worked in various fire management positions for the Government of Saskatchewan. In his dissertation research, he examines wildland firefighters’ responses to counterpart line of duty deaths. He is grateful to have received financial support for the research through the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, the International Association of Wildland Fire, the Schultz family, Alyshia Vaughn and Eric Tardif, and the sociology department.
