Canyon Adventures – A Field Class Spend the week with us as we hike and explore the world famous Eldorado Springs Canyon State Park and surrounding areas. We’ll venture into the grassland and montane forest life zones to discover the unique plants and animals that live there. Along the way, we’ll look for tracks, scat, feathers and bones that will give us clues to the hidden messages left behind for us to solve. Then we’ll journey back in time to the Paleozoic Era when we learn to “read” the rock layers while also examining the fascinating geology of the majestic Eldorado Springs Canyon. This is a field class. Students will be transported in university vans with a trained driver. Students need sturdy walking shoes, hat, daypack, waterproof windbreaker, water bottle, a non-peanut snack each day, as well as sunscreen and repellent pre-applied.
