Dropping off Payments

Drop off your private scholarship check in an envelope at the drop box by the south door of the Regent Administrative Center next to the ATM. Be sure to include your Student ID number and name in the envelope, otherwise we won't be able to process your scholarship on your account.

Mailing payments

Ask your donors to mail scholarship checks at least one month before the bill due date to avoid incurring late payment fees. Our office must receive your scholarship check by 5 p.m. on the first day of classes to guarantee no late fees. You're responsible for paying your bill if a check arrives late. We cannot waive late fees if it applies to the bill after the due date. Learn about timing of scholarships and your bill.

To expedite processing: you may provide your scholarship donor with your student ID and the Scholarship Donor form to include with the scholarship check.

Mail scholarship checks to:

University of Colorado Boulder
Scholarship Services
77 UCB
Boulder, CO 80309-0077

We encourage you to write thank you notes to your scholarship donor(s). Expressing appreciation to donors for their interest in and support of higher education is an important part of receiving a scholarship.

Scholarship Check Distribution
Scholarship checks for more than $2,500 will be split equally between fall and spring terms. Scholarships for $2,500 or less will be applied to your student account in full during the term in which the check is received.

View Your Private Scholarship in Buff Portal

It typically takes 3-5 business days to process a scholarship for payment once our office receives it.

To view your scholarship:

  1. Log in to Buff Portal.
  2. From the Financial Aid card, select the appropriate aid year from the year drop-down near the top of the card.
  3. Click View Financial Aid. Your private scholarship amount will appear as accepted below the Scholarships section on the card.

Your scholarship will apply to the bill once payment is received from your donor, but no sooner than one week before class begins. Learn more about how scholarships apply to the bill.
