Dominican Republic, 2017

The Student Academic Success Center (SASC) invites students in the McNeill Academic Program, TRiO Student Support Services, and WAMS/ First Nations to apply for our 2017 trip to the Dominican Republic. The trip will happen over spring break as part of our core curriculum writing course, ARSC 1080, College Writing and Research. If your application is successful, SASC will work with you to ensure that you have the financial support you need to participate fully.

In 250 words or less, tell us what you hope to gain from your study abroad experience. Why would this experience be valuable to you?
In 100 words or less, describe any previous experiences you have had traveling outside the United States.
One important aspect of a successful study abroad experience is teamwork. In 150 words or less, describe the strengths and skills you would bring to the class community making the trip, including languages you speak and what you have learned as a leader or member of a team.
In approximately 100 words, describe how you normally finance your tuition and expenses here at CU. Be specific and please see the following examples for guidance: 1. If you receive Financial Aid and/or scholarships, please list specific loans/grants/awards and amounts. 2. If you split costs with your parents, list what you pay vs. what they pay. 3. Please also stipulate HOW you/your parents might pay (i.e. college fund, job in summer and/or semester, savings, etc.). 4. If you help with costs by working, please specify whether you work during the regular school year (and how many hours per week).
