Collage Of Miscellaneous Items In Charcoal

This drawing was entirely done in compressed charcoal and a technique called lifting, which involves erasing to bring out the image desired. The idea comes from copying five images of five random items of choice to create a collage. Then utilize the copied pictures to create one 18 by 24 image. This technique was done in order to perceive and understand depth.

I am 21 years old, born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I'm a sophomore at Metro State, majoring in communication design and planning to get into architecture after graduation. I still consider myself to be a very inexperienced artist. I'm still experimenting with different media but I do mostly enjoy charcoal and paint.
