I am currently a senior at the University of Colorado at Boulder. I am majoring in English, with an emphasis in Creative Writing. My native language is Bahasa Indonesia, which is Indonesia’s primary language. English as my second language has contributed to my interest in English as a major and art. In my journey to further perfect my writing I fell in love with poetry where words, syntax and grammar can be controlled by the writer and be played outside the marginal rules of the English language. I find poetry as my place to escape from the status quo; a place to express my emotions, opinions, creativity, and where I am able to reflect any events into lines of art.
