As with most art, these pieces as I see them are responses to/ interpretations of environment. These are different creators’
experiences and representations of space and place, capturing moments in time. They suggest a strong influence of place on a person–
the pull between two (or many) places and the feelings that resonate from this tension.
Border crossing, as a theme, reveals more than just a physical journey. It can symbolize the journey of the mind, a push and pull that occurs internally.
I see these representations of space and place showing where the creator has been,
in body and/or thought, and what the process of this travel means to them.
