Hello, my name is Vera Jackson.  I am an un-traditional senior here at CU majoring in Ethnic Studies.  I plan to graduate in May ’08 after completing my research work in multi/biracial studies for the Mc Nair program and completing a senior thesis on the topic.  I never thought that I would enjoy education until I found out about the Ethnic Studies program here at CU. 

Now I love learning and discussing issues of diversity that include class, gender, sexuality, race, and religion within social, political, and economic structures.  I feel that we all deal with these issues everyday, however they are not talked about enough or correctly.  All too often, all we receive and believe is what is shown and talked about in the major corporate media outputs, without questioning it.  This is why I glad to be a part of this community media source.  I believe that learning the truth about oneself and others will help us to create a better world for all people to live in.
