In my elementary school poetry debut, I misspelled the word poem. Despite my poor spelling, I was proud of my book of “pomes”
and have been writing ever since in just about every medium. I now have an incriminating library full of my journals filled with my poetic ramblings. Currently, I am a senior in the CU Journalism School, where I put my love of words to work. Poetry is still my artistic passion, and I recently started participating in slams and am co-chair of CU’s poetry club. The club hosts a weekly open-mic on the hill.
When I’m not writing, I am probably running, pretending I know something about art or staying active with the Women’s Resource Center or the President’s Leadership Class. Also, I am happiest when I am on an airplane, train, bus, or any method of transportation really, headed towards a new locale, so I try to travel as much as possible. I spent a semester abroad in Dublin, Ireland, which has been very influential to my writing. Mostly, I just try to keep up with my family and friends, who are my biggest sources of inspiration.
