A Message from the Directors of the McNeill Program
Sophie Low   Loretta Wahl
We are excited that you have chosen to attend CU Boulder.  We look forward to having you in the McNeill Academic Program.  Each of our students brings unique talents and skills to CU.  The program is structured to support you in reaching your individuals goals.  Your McNeill program experience will integrate smoothly with your other campus activities.

Did You Know?
The McNeill Academic Program’s Writing Program is award winning, and is a model for instruction across the nation.  We received the Certificate of Excellence by the Conference on College Composition and Communication (http://www.ncte.org/cccc/awards/writingprogramcert), the nation’s largest professional organization for writing faculty in higher education.

While McNeill supports students in any major, one area of our expertise is in mathematics and chemistry assessment and placement.  We know that all high schools prepare students differently for college.   Our assessment and placement model gives you a jumpstart in your coursework if you pursue a major in the sciences, engineering, business or mathematics.

McNeill is a diverse learning community with approximately 100 students accepted each year and about 400 students total in our program.  McNeill students have a rich experience at CU.  McNeill students are leaders on campus, research assistants, peer mentors, teaching assistants, recipients of the Provost Achievement Award, the President’s Diversity Award, and hold internships ranging from professions in the sciences to journalism.

Every year McNeill students serve on CU’s student government.  McNeill student Juedon, was elected Tri-Executive of the CU Student Government for the 2014-15 academic year.

Every year McNeill students continue onto graduate school including graduate programs in the health field.

Our program takes your education seriously and is committed to having you start at CU with a strong foundation, that will lead to success in major courses.
