Who We Are
A Federal Trio Program on the CU-Boulder campus since 1986 funded under the Student Support Services Grant regulations with the Federal Mission:
- To increase college retention and graduation rates for eligible students.
- To foster an institutional climate supportive of the success of low income and first generation college students and individuals with disabilities.
- And the added project mission: To assist participants in the preparation and matriculation into graduate school by encouraging competitive graduation and locating and exploring resources towards this mean.
What We Do
- We provide multiple client-specific services year-round to 186 eligible students admitted into the program.
- We offer Summer Ready, an extended summer orientation program for selected students who will be entering UCB in the fall term for the first time.
- We host TASC (Trio Advanced Study Community), a program that targets a small group of freshmen and sophomore students who show academic promise and/or high research interest and assist them in exploring graduate level education and research. This program is offered in cooperation with the McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program.
Who is Eligible
- Participants must be low-income, first generation (with neither parent
graduating with a baccalaureate degree or higher) and/or be a student with
disability(ies). All eligiblity critera will be confirmed by AESSS staff and
in accordance to specified federal guidelines.
Where We Are
- Our program is housed in the Student Academic Services Center (SASC) on the 2nd
Floor of Fleming Building, in Room 259. SASC encompasses many services working together
to provide instruction and services to diverse student populations. Our program serves the student holistically, considering the many environmental,
physical and social factors/roles that make the student who they are.
