About the Student Recreation Center

The Student Recreation Center at the University of Colorado at Boulder is a student fee-funded facility with policy set by the UCSU Joint Board on Recreation Services (mostly a student group). The Student Recreation Center is open seven days a week for approximately 16 hours per day with most of the areas available for open recreation much of the time. The following includes:
Mission Statement
The mission of the Department of Recreation Services is to provide opportunities for physical and social interaction that satisfy varying degrees of interest in the university community and ultimately support academic productivity.

Informal Recreation
Informal recreation enables you to use a facility in an unstructured setting for your own enjoyment. All facilities in the recreation center are available to members for informal use at some point during the day.
Employment Opportunities
The Student Recreation Center has numerous opportunities for student employment at many levels. The recreation center hires up to 300 employees. Jobs are posted each semester. The following are some examples: information/identification checkers, equipment checkout, office staff, life guards, skate attendants, emergency care room staffers, class instructors, outdoor trip leaders, building security, weight room attendants, cashiers, and intramural officials.
