Division of Student Affairs Recreation Center Basics

Select one of the following for information about:

Membership
Full fee-paying students have an automatic membership to the Recreation Center; University faculty, staff, and alumni may purchase memberships. Spouse/couple memberships may also be purchased and children ages five to 17 are allowed membership, but must be accompanied by a parent at all times when in the facility. Members may bring up to three guests with them; they are required to pay a small fee each time they use the Recreation Center. Memberships (and all purchases at the Rec Center) are available at the Cashier Desk just inside the main entrance. For more information on membership eligibility see the general membership section

Access to the Recreation Center
Present your Buff OneCard or membership card plus photo ID to the information clerk at either of the two entrances. A patron may NOT enter the Rec Center without their Buff OneCard or membership card and photo ID.

Equipment Checkout
The Equipment Checkout window on the lower level allows you to check out locks, towels, and sports equipment for the day (to be returned by close) at no charge. Upon leaving, don't forget to receive confirmation from the staff that all equipment has been returned. Please note that a fee of one dollar per item per day will be assessed on all late items. Also, outdoor equipment is available for overnight rental.

Reservations
The Recreation Center offers seven racquetball courts, tow squash courts, a multipurpose court and eight tennis courts. To make a reservation please call
(303) 492-6599. Reservations are based on a first come first serve basis. Please note: certain times may not be available for public use due to Recreation Center classes and/or maintenance.

Lockers
We offer a day locker and towel service at no extra charge. Simply present your valid Buff OneCard or membership card and photo ID at the Equipment Checkout window. For those of you who wish to store your gear at the Rec Center, rather than carry it back and forth with each visit, you can rent a locker for the semester or longer. The fee is $7 per semester, plus a one-time $3 deposit. Present your Buff OneCard or membership card and photo ID to the cashier to pay for the locker. You get your deposit back when you return your lock and towel to the Equipment Checkout window by the expiration date.

Lost and Found
The Lost and Found service is available at the Equipment Checkout window. You may also call 303-492-7247.

Tours
Walk-in tours of our facility are available during all hours of operation; however, to arrange a tour in advance, call 303-492-6051 during regular business hours. See our virtual tour

Parking
Parking near the Recreation Center is somewhat difficult. All parking areas on campus are posted with signs indicating the type of parking permitted. Close handicapped parking is available near the Recreation Center. The Euclid Autopark is a pay-as-you-park garage staffed by an attendant Monday through Friday during normal business hours. Many of the lots that require university permits during the day are available for parking after 5:00 p.m. and on weekends. A fee of $1.25 is required to gain access to gate-controlled lots.

Bikes
There are bicycle racks just south of the main entrance to the facility. The Recreation Center supports the use of alternative means of transportation for obvious environmental reasons, and the fact that campus is a crowded place. For more information on parking and bike regulations, contact the Parking Services Office at 303-492-2322.
