Stress Management Workshop for First Year Students

Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Group Interpretation
“Why am I the way I am? What am I naturally good at? What areas in my life do I need to improve? What do I want to do with my life? How can I deal with stress better?” If you ask yourself any of these questions, you may find some of your answers by taking the Myers Briggs Type Indicator(MBTI). You can join other CU students for a one-time group interpretation of your results. To get more information about the MBTI, visit our website, or call CAPS at (303) 492-6766.

Surviving your Long Distance Relationship
Does absence make your heart grow fonder? Or does it feel more like “Out of sight, out of mind” for you? If you are currently a CU student who is in a long distance relationship, please join us for a short presentation on Long Distance Relationships, which will include possible issues that come up and strategies for how to deal with them. There will be an open discussion after the presentation so you can ask questions and share your thoughts about long distance relationships.

Body Image B.A.S.I.C.S Presentation
Explore how body image impacts the way we think and feel about ourselves and how it impacts our relationships and daily behavior. Discuss the cultural and psychosocial influences on the development of body image. Learn skills to begin the process of nurturing a more positive, healthy image of yourself and your body. Bacchus Certified Peer Educator Training
Open to students interested in the helping profession: peer educators, students who mentor other students, and student leaders. Learn listening skills, how to respond effectively with resources and referrals, intervention skills for unhealthy behavior, inclusion and cultural competency, programming and presentation skills, and MUCH more. Stress and Anxiety Management
Do you get stressed out about everything? Worry too much? Feel the anxiety coming on? Come and join us in a three week educational workshop that will help you think about and deal with stress and anxiety in a more effective way. Attendance to all three sessions is required.

How to Stay Afloat Until Your Ship Comes In
This workshop will focus on the impact of the economic crisis for us all. We will discuss how the crisis affects all of us, especially students, and how the effects of the crisis typically mean more stress to manage in our lives. We will talk about some very specific tools for people to use to manage this stress and to manage their budgets.

Wellness Warriors
A warrior embodies inherent strength and vitality and is able to tap into a natural healing power to maintain balance and wellbeing. In this workshop, you will work with yoga, mindfulness skills, guided visualization, philosophy, poetry, nutritional exploration, and interpersonal sharing to progress toward wellness. Learn to trust the unknown, overcome limiting habitual patterns, unveil new possibilities, become alert, awake, and open to others. Dreams are amazing windows into our lives, and they reveal powerful messages that can help develop personal insight and give us clues about what to do next in life.
