GENERAL THERAPY GROUPS
This is an unstructured therapy group that relies on relationships between members as the driving force of group content and process. Members will benefit from giving and receiving feedback on how their interpersonal style impacts others in the group. Group members may be struggling with symptoms of anxiety, depression, or low self-esteem. Perfect for anyone looking to build stronger, more genuine relationships with others! All ages welcome!
This is a co-ed therapy and skills development group for students who may be experiencing relationship problems, stress, and/or feelings of being overwhelmed. This group is for students who have been in individual therapy and wish to expand their skills in relating to others. We will provide a safe environment in which to learn new ways to share feelings and form healthy relationships. Are you stressed and overwhelmed? Experience the potential life-changing practices of mindfulness, including meditation and gentle yoga. We will provide CD’s and other materials to support practice in between sessions. This group also includes an optional half-day meditation retreat. This group is now closed to new members – please call Jean Leonard (303-492-6766) if you’re interested in joining in the spring.
This is an on-going bimonthly drop in support group for graduate students who have passed their comprehensive examinations and are in the process of starting or are already working on their dissertations. Group members will support one another in setting and meeting concrete goals toward completing their dissertations.
A four-week psycho-educational/support group for students who have lost someone significant through death in the past year (Not the best group for someone who might have lost someone in the past 3 months). The focus of the group will be on acquiring a better understanding of the grief process, acquiring skills to cope, and providing a brief experience of giving and receiving support in a very contained, supportive setting before referring some clients on (as needed) to participate in more intensive process groups through Hospice and elsewhere.
A free, six week psycho-educational class (Oct. 9 – Nov. 13) for trauma survivors and their significant others. Open to anyone who’s experienced a serious accident, sex assault, relationship violence, stalking, witnessing a death or injury, surviving a fire, bias motivated incident, sexual harassment and others. The class is designed for participants to learn about the effects of trauma and specific skills to better manage traumatic stress responses. The class will focus on:
